Community Noticeboard
Dear parents and carers,
We are delighted to share details of a special opportunity for children living with asthma this summer.
The Respiratory & Allergy Department at Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise, in partnership with the Asthma Society of Ireland, is hosting a free Asthma Camp on 4–5 July 2026 in Portlaoise.
The camp is designed for children aged 6–10 years who have been diagnosed with asthma, and aims to help them better understand their condition through active, engaging learning and play. Children will learn practical skills to support better asthma management, build confidence, and work towards optimal asthma control.
Families are encouraged to attend together, and siblings without asthma are also welcome to take part in the activities, making it a fun and supportive experience for the whole family.
What’s included:
- Free two-day programme of activities and learning
- Snacks, refreshments, and lunch provided each day
- Family-friendly, interactive sessions for children and parents/carers
Please note that accommodation and any additional travel-related costs are not covered.
